Last week, I was kindly invited along to the Tyneside Cinema’s Christmas event. Bare in mind it was July and one of the hottest days of the year. (Hence, why I am standing with Santa wearing a jumpsuit and sliders).
I had a little look over the promotions they had to offer for the Christmas period (The most wonderful time of the year). There is plenty on for the kids and the adults.
The polar express family event:
The Polar Express Family event is not one to miss, with Tyneside cinema going out the way to make it extra special even before the event by sending out the child a personalised golden ticket, that is posted out to their home address ahead of the screening.
Tyneside cinema encourages to their guests to attend in pyjamas/dressing gowns like the films characters which means you can relax and be comfortable whilst sipping their hot chocolate and eating their homemade gingerbread man that they receive on entry to the screen to watch the actual polar express film.
And at the end of the film, Father Christmas will join in the screen and children can take it in turn to pop up onstage to meet him and collect their present.
The grinch family event:
This is one of my favourite ones!. I met the grinch at the Tyneside cinema Christmas event and it made my day. Every Christmas I have to watch the grinch, so this year I will defiantly be attending Tyneside cinema to watch it with the cookies and milkshakes you receive when attending screening.
Oh and did I mention, you can meet the grinch and get your photo taken.

Dates: 7th December, 11am
The holiday screening:
And this is one for all the girls on Friday the 13th, Tyneside cinema brings a one night screening for the holiday. This is my favourite girly chick flick at Christmas and Cameron Diaz, is one of my favourite actresses.
Everyone will receive a survival pack, including chocolate, popcorn, prosecco and a handy pack of tissues for those weepy moments since it is such a romantic film.
Home alone double bill:
Who doesn’t love home alone, even if it’s Christmas or not. It’s one of my favourites bringing back so many childhood memories. You can book In for the 14th December.
Other Christmas films/events:
– Die Hard double bill
– its a wonderful life and afternoon tea (they also have a dementia friendly event and baby friendly event)
– The muppet Christmas Carol.
– The elf
– the nutcracker
– white Christmas
