#gifted, On Saturday I and the family were kindly invited along to Fun Shack Newcastle, One of the North East’s biggest premier indoor play-centres. And they also have one in Seaham and Stockton too.
We visited the one in Newcastle which is based in Benfield Business Park, NE6 4NQ. The business park is shared with other companies and Therefore this means that the parking area is only small but free. We went on a rainy day so it was busy and we did have to wait on a parking space but was not too bad.

The indoor play centre was one of the biggest I had seen, it was full but staff were quick on their feet to get that Que down. There was also a sign in and out sheet and staff had to open the gates to let you out which is great for the child’s safety.
The General admission prices:
Off peak:
Age 1-4 £6.49
Age 5-12 £7.49
Peak: (weekend and holidays)
Age 1-4 £7.49
Age 5-12 £9.49
Adults: £1
Adult and child under 12 months: £2.50
I felt the price range was of average price for most softplay of this great size and facilities. Oh and over the summer there is a pass you can purchase for £30 which allows your child to access the softplay every day over the summer holidays. (Limited time offer).

The Opening times are:
Monday – Sunday 10.00 – 6.30
Toddler times – 10.00 -3.30
(Last entry is 90 mins before closing time)

Fun Shack has a lot to offer, with plenty to get involved in from:

– Cannon ball area (Big pirate ship)
– Cinema

– Toddler areas (dedicated to 0-4 years)

– Giant play frame
– Rubber ring slide
– Trampolines
– Miniature climbing wall

– Toon Town (dress up area)
The Toon town had to be our best area, The girls loved dressing up and pretending to play shops with their baby’s.

There is an on-site cafe, where we had a spot of lunch. We all enjoyed our food even the kids which says a lot. The food was great value for the price. I had the chicken wrap with salad, my mam had a burger and chips and my nieces had fish fingers and chips, they even eat every bit. The price came to around £20 for 4 meals which I felt this was an cheap price for a meal of that value for four people.
The play area has a strict no picnic policy so you can’t bring your own food or drink.

As the day was coming to an end, we passed this room that caught my eye which I found out was an party room.
The parties include:
– 90 minutes of play
– 30 minutes in the food room of your choice.
– a party host
– Free unlimited juice
– A choice of meals from list
– Reserved seats for parents
– Party bag for each kid.
– A return pass for the birthday child.
