Build your own summer of fun at the Discovery museum.

If your child is a big fan of Lego, this place is great to put on your to do list over the summer to save for a rainy day.

The brilliant bricks: Lego timeline of northern innovation exhibition at the discovery museum highlights what the North has done for the world through 45 intricate models created by artist Steve Mayes; theses will be displayed until the 3rd November and is free.

The northern innovations of Lego feature  which feature the Geordie Lamp, Stephenson’s Rocket and Turbinia through to the futuristic Hyperloop. Don’t forget to look for the real life Geordie inventions around the museum too which you can pay a £1 to do the trail for a fun adventure.

There is also a little area which you can take children of all ages to play with the blocks from table tops full of Lego, to the wall board you can stick Lego to and also big Lego blocks for the little ones to play with during the times of:

Weekends 11am – 4pm

Closed bank holiday
