Park-goers were queuing up from 9 clock in the morning yesterday to enter the splash pad as the early sun began to shine down on the North east.
Yesterday we headed over to Chester Le Street Riverside park, it was packed with park-goers, families, dog walkers and runners. I heard one women saying they had been queuing since 9 clock to enter the splash pad.
As we went to park the car, there was a lot of space but it was still very hard to find a car parking space due to the popularity of the park. The parking was cheap compared to many other parks ’80p an hour’ ‘£2 for 4hours’.

My first initial thought was that the park was to a great size with lots of faculties for the children to play and has a lot to offer as a park overall:
– splash pad (water area)
– river with where you may spot the occasional swan and ducks. You can buy duck food from the ice cream van.. (Not encourage to swim in due to previous deaths)
– beautiful scenic route for dog walkers, walkers and runners.
– great sized park
– Ice cream vans and onsite cafe
– dog exercise area
– skate park
– Picnic area
I found the park very family friendly, it was accessible and easy to get around for wheelchair and buggy users. There was also toilet facilities which also had a changing room and a disabled toilet.
I would highly recommend this park, beautiful scenery, fun for all the family including your pooch. Lots of car park space but if you don’t drive, you can always get bus to front street which is about a 15 minute walk from the park.
